Location: Killeen, TX (Fort Cavazos)

Project Overview: Oversee the design-build conversion of an existing building into an open storage Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF). The project involves upgrading building architecture, security systems, and utilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage day-to-day construction activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  2. Coordinate with government representatives, subcontractors, and design teams to execute the project according to the approved schedule and budget.
  3. Oversee implementation of security measures required for SCIF construction, including adherence to the Construction Security Plan (CSP).
  4. Ensure all work meets Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705, and other applicable codes and regulations.
  5. Manage utility outages and coordinate with base personnel for approvals.
  6. Supervise the installation and upgrades of architectural elements, including doors, walls, and windows to meet STC 50 acoustic ratings and security requirements.
  7. Oversee the installation of new intrusion detection and access control systems.
  8. Manage upgrades to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and telecommunications systems to meet SCIF requirements.
  9. Ensure proper documentation, including maintenance of as-built drawings and preparation of closeout documents.
  10. Coordinate training for government personnel on newly installed systems and equipment.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum 5 years of experience as a construction superintendent, preferably with experience in secure facility projects.
  2. Knowledge of SCIF construction requirements and relevant government regulations.
  3. Familiarity with design-build project delivery methods.
  4. Strong understanding of building systems, including mechanical, electrical, and security systems.
  5. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  6. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  7. Proficiency in construction management software.
  8. Valid driver's license and ability to pass background checks for working on a military installation.
  9. U.S. citizenship is required due to the sensitive nature of the project.
  10. Required experience with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE)
  11. Require Quality Control (QC) Manager certification

This position requires working on-site at a U.S. military installation for the duration of the project, estimated at approximately 17 months.
