CTR Group is seeking a Construction Project Manager - Government Construction & Architecture in the Washington, DC area for an organization that creates some of the most advanced architectural products in the world. Their Industrial Security Products are custom engineered in the USA and utilized by private, State and Federal agencies.

SUMMARY:

  • The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the overall success, safety and timely completion of a construction project involving the sourcing and installation of specialized doors throughout various locations in Washington, D.C. The PM will plan and manage project construction, commissioning and close-out activities, and schedules while providing technical consultation to project teams, government agencies and stakeholders. Most importantly, this individual is expected to ensure open and effective dialogue amongst the client and various stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Executes project specific work plans and advises as appropriate, to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Develops collegial relationships with client personnel that foster trust and confidence in the team.
  • Works closely with the client and the many other stakeholders (sometimes with competing demands) to ensure the project is complete with minimal disruption.
  • Identifies needed resources and coordinates with the Program Manager at the Corporate HQ well in advance to ensure the construction schedule is on track.
  • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of the project by ensuring the installation contractors are performing work in accordance with the contract and schedules.
  • Effectively applies the company’s processes and procedures and enforces the project contract and standards.
  • Manages and minimizes Company’s exposure and risk on the project.
  • Effectively and timely communicates project information to the Chief Executive Officer.
  • Resolves and/or escalates cost and schedule issues in a timely fashion

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in business management, engineering, finance, or related field from a credited college, university or technical school; or ten (10) years of successful related experience or training in engineering, finance or manufacturing management; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain building access through routine background investigations (National Criminal Indices Check-NCIC).
  • 10-15 years of construction/project management experience; minimum of 8 years of professional employment managing large vertical design/build projects.
  • Possess strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience as Project Manager on projects valued at $50M or more.
  • Willingness/ability to work non-traditional hours, to include evenings and weekends that minimize impact on day-to-day operations of building tenants.
  • Primary experience working as the General Contractor on large construction buildings with high end finishes; experience in historic buildings is a benefit.
  • Experience in all aspects of design/build contract execution with a working knowledge and understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
  • Experience on secured and high-end building design and construction, firm fixed price contracts.
  • Knowledge of construction planning, scheduling, and construction management, monitoring and control techniques.
  • FE/BR experience, TSS (Technical Security Services), and Special Construction Experience highly desired.
  • Must be able to successfully create and manage a multi-cultural project team and create a positive and strong work environment, as well as positively integrate with the local stakeholder community as required.
  • Experience in contract management and construction risk management are required.
