Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES | WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

 

  • Facilitate development of computer science / technology education core and elective classes to supplement our existing S.T.E.A.M. educational opportunities. 

  • Have experience using and teaching several of the following areas of technology education, for example: online safety and digital citizenship, computer programming languages/coding, software/hardware design, graphic design, web design, digital marketing, digital photography, AI, 3-D printing, etc.

  • Develop IEP objectives for each student and attend meetings if the schedule allows

  • Record data accurately and chart individual student information
  • Develop and adapt lesson plans to supplement the curriculum
  • Implement specified teaching methods as required
  • Grade and provide feedback to   students' work
  • Classroom management/student monitoring 

  • Attend weekly staff meetings, staff training, and professional development opportunities
  • Assess students as needed
  • Maintain relationship with parents regarding student achievement
  • Perform administrative duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS | WHAT YOU BRING 

  • 1 to 3 years of teaching experience to middle and high school-age students.
  • Experience educating students who may require differentiated instruction and may have emotional and/or learning challenges.
  • Must hold or be eligible for   a CT teacher certification with the ability to cross-endorse with Computer Science or Technology Education grades 7-12 certification - dual certification in Computer Science/Technology Education and Special Education is a plus!
