Salary:

A3 Technology, Inc. is seeking a full-time Computer Systems Operator to join our government client support team at the FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. The position will be part of a team providing automated data processing support. The qualified candidate will have experience operating and supporting large system wide operating systems.

Responsibilities:

• Provide support for the IBM TCDC Computer System, Central Support/Software Development (CS/SD) System and Tape Library.

• Help desk support for end users.
• System initiation (power-up procedures, initial checkout, etc.).
• System diagnostic and checkout procedures.
• Environmental monitoring (power, temperature and humidity).
• Mount and dismount magnetic tapes and optical media as requested.
• System Console Monitoring for z/OS, z/VM and z/Linux systems.
• Load paper in printers, remove listings and place in proper bins.
• System dataset backup and restore services pertaining to mainframe files and/or TSM client server files.
• Console operation.
• Configure disk drives, tape drives and consoles upon request.
• Command or message initiation and response.
• Operator task/job initiation,
• Maintain operations procedures run book, end user guide, bulletins and forms.
• Participate in ISO audits of all procedures maintained in the operations area.
• Emergency shutdown procedures.
• Review and maintain system security.
• Maintain operations logbooks.
• Maintain hardware equipment inventory database.
• Job processing.
• Preprocessing and ensuring tapes, forms, etc. are available before execution.
• Execution-restart, abort and logging procedures.
• Post-processing output validity checking and distribution.
• Output quality control.
• Tape library services (i.e. slotting tapes, affix labels) and tracking through the TCDC tape library system.
• Prepare disaster recovery packages and coordinate transit with disaster recovery service provider.
• Operate, configure and reconfigure associated TCDC networked micro computers and printers.
  

Skills Required:

• 3 years computer operation experience using IBM mainframe, utilizing z/OS and JES2 subsystem.
• 3 years working knowledge of TSO and job control language.
• US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US is required.
• Upon conditional offer of employment candidates will be subject to a Government investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain Government clearance.
• Verification of past employment, verification of education and references are also required.
  

Skills Preferred:

• Good communication skills.
• FAA experience.

Education:

• High School Diploma/GED and 6 years relevant experience.
  

Additionally, US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US is a must. Upon receiving a conditional offer of employment, candidates will undergo a Government investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for Government clearance. Verification of past employment, education and references is also required. It is imperative that candidates be either a US citizen or a current green card holder with the last 3 consecutive years as a resident of the US.

The salary range for positions is $50,000 to $175,000. This range is provided as a general guideline and should not be interpreted as a guarantee of compensation. Actual salary offers will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the specific responsibilities of the position, the candidates education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. In addition, compensation may be influenced by applicable Federal Government contract labor categories and established contract wage rates.
