This position serves as a Computer Support Analyst performing diagnosis and resolution of system related problems including interfaces to active directory, network integrations, and software applications/products using the ability to adapt complex processing to different system/program requirements. In this role you will provide technical support for computer-based hardware and software and serve as a project coordinator on standard projects including small to medium sized EUC hardware/software installations and deployments. In addition, you will meet with users to determine user needs and objectives, monitor trouble tickets to ensure acceptable service levels for providing break/fix services to agencies within listed time frames are being met and provide group or individual assistance and training to customers on installed hardware and software and other functional areas including but not limited to network and server hardware, software and peripherals. Essential Functions

  • Under general direction, serves as a Computer Support Analyst for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT)
  • Performs difficult and complex system services functions to support assigned agencies
  • Serves as a project coordinator on standard projects including small to medium sized EUC hardware/software installations and deployments
  • Meets with users to determine user needs and objectives
  • Monitors trouble tickets to ensure acceptable service levels for providing break/fix services to agencies within listed time frames are being met
  • Provides group or individual assistance and training to customers on installed hardware and software and other functional areas including but not limited to network and server hardware, software and peripherals
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the Information Technology field
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college with coursework in computer science or directly related fields.
  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience in Client Services or a related Information Technology field. 

Specialized Skills

  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience in supporting end user hardware, software, or application systems including using troubleshooting tools and procedures. 
  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience in Active Directory and Automated software deployment tools such as Microsoft Windows/MSI scripts, Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), or Lite-Touch.
  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience in maintaining and troubleshooting devices on a network within a business infrastructure environment.
  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience utilizing Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office client software products.

     

Preferred Qualifications (In Order of Significance)

  • One (1) year professional experience in supporting end user hardware, software or application systems including using troubleshooting tools and procedures.
  • One (1) year professional experience in Active Directory and Automated software deployment tools such as Microsoft Windows/MSI scripts, Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), or Lite-Touch.
  • One (1) year of professional experience in maintaining and troubleshooting devices on a network within a business infrastructure environment.
  • One (1) year of professional experience utilizing Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office client software products.
  • One (1) year professional experience adapting complex processing to different system and program requirements.
  • One (1) year professional experience with Automated equipment, scheduling, and coordinating.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to present technical information to others with clarity and precision.
  • Working knowledge of Mac Operating Systems configuration.
  • Working knowledge of scripting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to present technical information to others with clarity and precision.
