Equity Staffing has a new Electrical/Substation CAD Technician opportunity with a leading national Engineering & Construction consulting firm that is hiring in their Raleigh, NC office!

Please note that substation experience is REQUIRED for this role.

$25.20 - 27.30/hr depending on experience

Onsite, office in Raleigh, NC

Summary: The Electrical/Substation CAD Technician will assist technical teams of detailers, designers and engineers to create world class details on a variety of projects. This position will assist in developing computer-aided drafting design solutions. Assist with preparing drawings and revising existing engineering drawings of basic components from specific sketches or layouts.

Main Duties:

• Assist with preparing and revising plot drawings.
• Responsible for adhering to company and client drafting standards and procedures.
• Responsible for adhering to the drafting practices of selected disciplines.
• Assist in drafting design and documentation for various projects.
• Assist with tasks utilizing standard drafting detail programs.
• Assist in continuous drafting detail improvement efforts.
• Research solutions to project concerns and recommend solutions to design problems.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Comply with all policies and standards

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED and course work in drafting technology Required or specialized CAD certification + min 2 yrs relevant exp.
• Associates degree + mins 1 yr experience is HIGHLY preferred. Bachelors in Engineering from an ABET school is not allowed for this position (except Engineering Technology).
• Must have experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation. Inventor experience is a PLUS.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.
