What You’ll Do:

As a CNC Lathe Machinist at Weaver Industries (also known as CNC Machinist or CNC Machine Operator), you'll report directly to the VP of Operations. You’ll be responsible for setting up and operating CNC/NC lathes, interpreting blueprints, maintaining precise measurements, and producing high-quality parts using a variety of machining techniques and tools. Whether you’re at a beginner, intermediate, or advanced level, we have a place for you!

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC/NC lathes to produce parts to precise specifications.
• Perform turning, facing, boring, threading, and drilling operations.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and setup sheets.
• Select appropriate tools and adjust machine settings for optimal performance.
• Measure and inspect machined parts using micrometers, calipers, and other instruments.
• Edit, upload, and download programs using DNC systems.
• Maintain accurate documentation and conduct daily machine maintenance.
• Ensure safe machine operation and report any malfunctions or safety concerns.

What You Bring to the Table:

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs (with lifting aids available for heavy parts).
• Familiarity with CNC machine tools and machining procedures.
• Knowledge of machining math and measuring equipment.
• Understanding of shop safety practices and daily startup procedures.
