Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: $35.00-$45.00 per hour
About the role

Compass Point Contracting is seeking an experienced Class 1 Truck Driver to join our Self Perform team. In this role, you'll be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting materials, equipment, and debris to and from job sites. Working closely with site teams, warehouse staff, and project managers, you will play a key role in keeping projects on track through safe transportation, logistics support, and equipment maintenance.

What you'll do
  • Operate Class 1 vehicles including dump trucks, flatbeds, and low-bed trailers.
  • Transport aggregates, steel, lumber, concrete, and heavy equipment between sites.
  • Secure loads safely and plan efficient delivery routes.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections, log mileage and maintenance, and report repairs.
  • Follow all WorkSafeBC, CVSE, NSC, and company safety regulations.
  • Communicate with supervisors to confirm delivery details and adjust schedules as needed.
  • Assist with loading/unloading using forklifts, cranes, or manual handling.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records, waybills, and reports.
What you bring
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of Class 1 commercial driving experience (construction industry preferred).
  • Licences: Valid Class 1 driver's licence with air brake endorsement and clean abstract.
  • Technical: Familiarity with GPS navigation, logbook software, and load tracking systems.
  • Skills: Strong vehicle operation, load securing, and route planning abilities.
  • Other: Attention to detail with safety, inspections, and documentation; team-oriented, reliable, adaptable, and strong problem-solving skills.
