Title : Civil Project Engineer

Location : Westchester, IL- 100% ONSITE

Hire Type : Direct Hire

Salary : $85k-110k/yr. based on experience

Sterling Engineering is looking for an Phase 1 Civil Engineer for a Civil Engineering firm in Westchester who works really closely with municipalities on IDOT Projects. This opportunity is a great opportunity to work with a stable company that is expanding!

Position Overview :

• Completion of IDOT Form BLR 22210 and associated documentation, encompassing:
• Preparation of existing and proposed cross-sections
• Development of pavement designs
• Initial roadway and drainage design
• Estimation of preliminary construction costs
• Design of ADA ramps
• Formulation of maintenance of traffic and staging plans
• Generation of crash diagrams
• Federally-Funded Surface Transportation Program (STP) and Local Agency Functional Overlay (LAFO) projects
• Locally funded transportation improvements
• Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) Low-Interest Utility Improvements
• Motor Fuel Tax (MFT)-Funded Transportation Improvements

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited 4-year college or university
• Preferred completion of Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification
• 5-10 Years of Experience as a Design Engineer in the municipal engineering field
• Active involvement in the submission of a minimum of three (3) Professional Development Reports for Federally Funded projects
• Knowledge of BLRS 27-7 (Variances) and capability to fulfill BLR22120 requirements
• Knowledge of IDOT’s Public Involvement requirements and ability to lead or assist in public meetings
