About the Role

The Company is in search of a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead its mission-driven, award-winning, independent, non-profit multimedia journalism organization. The CEO will be responsible for overseeing both the editorial and business operations, providing and maintaining a strategic focus, setting and achieving annual objectives, managing finances, and leading fundraising efforts. The successful candidate will be a strategic, visionary leader with a passion for education and public service journalism, capable of building and leading inclusive teams, and fostering a positive, transparent, and diverse work culture. They should be an experienced leader with a strong knowledge of journalism and education, dedicated to the organization's mission of producing high-quality, trusted, and independent journalism that informs and engages the community. Key responsibilities for the CEO include ensuring full and fair coverage of the education landscape, upholding the highest journalistic and ethical standards, and expanding the organization's reach. The ideal candidate will be an outstanding fundraiser, ambassador, and spokesperson, with a track record of growing and diversifying funding. They should also demonstrate strong business acumen, operational leadership, and the ability to adapt to the evolving media and journalism landscape. The CEO will work closely with a diverse team of professionals, including reporters, editors, and data experts, to ensure that the organization's impact is maximized and that it remains a relevant and sustainable news outlet.
