We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and efficient Cashier to join our team at Fast Lane Market. As a Cashier, you will play a key role in delivering excellent customer service while processing transactions, maintaining a clean store environment, and assisting customers with their needs. You will be responsible for handling cash, operating the point-of-sale (POS) system, and ensuring a smooth and positive experience for every customer.

Key Responsibilities :

• Greet and assist customers in a courteous and professional manner.
• Operate the cash register, scanning items, and processing payments via cash, credit/debit cards, and other payment methods.
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain accurate cash register balances and ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed.
• Ensure all merchandise is properly stocked and organized on the sales floor.
• Assist in restocking shelves, coolers, and displays as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store, including the cashier area.
• Follow store policies and procedures, including those for safety, security, and inventory management.
• Assist in opening and closing the store, as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the store manager.

Qualifications :

• Previous experience in retail or customer service is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to learn how to operate a cash register and handle money accurately.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Basic math skills and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements :

• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Occasionally lift and carry merchandise up to 30 Lbs.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as scanning items and handling cash.
