GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Create cost effective design layouts, models and drawings that meet all customer requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
\n - Create layouts, models and drawings to support production.
\n - Provide support to Engineers for design of basic shelters and mechanical and electrical modifications including rack installations, ECU installations, entry panel installations, lighting, power distribution and other ancillary items.
\n - Attend job kick-off meetings and participate in design reviews with customers as required.
\n - Review and understand customer specifications and Statements of Work, including Technical Data Package requirements for the program.
\n - Follow all CAD standards and procedures used by Gichner Shelter Systems.
\n - Meet CAD schedules and budgets.
\n - Provide support to CAD Operators.
\n - Review drawings for design.
\n - Follow configuration requirements for documentation control.
\n - Interface with other departments to support the project.
\n - Contribute to product improvement, standardization and department improvement projects.
\n - Assist in providing CAD estimates as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position does not require supervisory responsibilities.

\n - Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards.
\n - Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors.
\n - Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
\n - 2 years technical training, or equivalent experience.
\n - At least 3 years CAD design experience.
\n - 3D modeling experience.
\n - Advanced knowledge of Gichner products
\n - WORK ENVIROMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
\n - Office environment.
\n - Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
\n - Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones).
\n - Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
\n - Ability to follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
