Job Description
The City of Altoona is currently hiring for the position of Building Inspector in our Codes and Inspections Department. As a Building Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting inspections of residential and commercial buildings to ensure compliance with local and state building codes and regulations. You will evaluate construction plans, review permit applications, and carry out on-site inspections to verify that projects adhere to safety standards and zoning laws. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with contractors, architects, and property owners to promote safe and compliant construction practices while providing guidance and assistance as needed.
