Job Description

About Woden

The brands who tell—and live—the best stories will win their market.

How brands connect with people has been upended by technology. AI, social media, short-form video, email, messaging apps—they all feel new and different. But the way people use them isn’t: We’re experiencing a digitally-fueled reimagination of the oral (storytelling) tradition.

In this digitoral era, the brands who will win are those defined by a story that converts their prospects to customers and customers into evangelists.

Woden creates strategic narratives for essential brands and ensures that story is told clearly, consistently, and compellingly.

We’re building the first agency of our kind. And we’re looking for curious, deliberate, and insightful people to join us.

The Role

You’re a great fit for this job if you’re creative—but purposeful. At our core we’re storytellers, but clients ask us to apply story to the strategic challenges they’re facing in their business. We’d like to add a team member who’s curious, loves engaging directly with our clients, and can see the potential in a brand to become bigger than it is today.

We’re recruiting for a Brand Storyteller (junior or senior level). The Brand Storyteller works alongside a team of three Wodenworkers to deliver the first three phases of our engagement. You’ll do research and interviews, help develop the client’s StoryKernel (strategic narrative), craft their brand pillars, and create the strategy and copy they need to put it into practice.

You’ll work under the direction of an Engagement Team Lead and report directly to the Director of Storytelling. We’re a small and growing team, and yours will be an impactful voice that drives change, growth, and new ideas at Woden.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct market, industry, and competitive research with ability to form critical analysis of key takeaways on trends, messaging, and differentiation
  • Schedule and conduct interviews with clients, from CEOs to our client's customers and strategic partners
  • Write story-driven sales pitches, product messaging, and business content that aligns with client's story and style
  • Peer-edit copy and design
  • Attend client calls and virtual deliveries, contributing to client-facing presentations and discussions
  • Participate and contribute in brainstorms and project meetings
  • Collaborate with senior brand storytellers, team leads, directors, business development, and designers to meet client objectives
  • Join and contribute to cross-functional internal teams to drive Woden’s growth, product, or culture initiatives
  • Exemplify Woden’s core values on a daily basis

What You’ll Need To Succeed

  • Business actually interests you. This is important.
  • 1-3 years of professional post-collegiate experience or 3-5+ for senior-level
  • You’re a strong writer
  • You can work within systems and are organized
  • Experience presenting your work and defending your ideas
  • You communicate clearly and proactively
  • You’re team-driven and thrive off collaboration
  • Your self-motivated and want to learn, grow, and succeed in whatever you do
  • The idea of having a voice in the room on Day One and your desire to build something motivates the hell out of you
  • You like coming into an office every day, collaborating in person, and feeding off the general good vibes of your team
  • You’re pumped there’s an office dog here to cuddle whenever, wherever

Our Culture

Woden’s mission is to transform purposeful companies into essential brands. The right candidate is tenacious and hungry to advance that, while exhibiting our core values:

  • Mission-Obsessed
  • Craves Success
  • Radically Candid
  • Team-First
  • Creatively Curious

Benefits of Working at Woden

  • Competitive Salary with incentive bonuses
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Competitive Health Insurance Plans
  • Dental, Vision, and Commuter benefits
  • 401k Plan with Employer Match
  • Snacks and Monday team lunch
  • Office dog!

Compensation

$50,400-66,000 annual salary (dependent on experience) plus incentive bonuses based on client 5-star reviews on your work. A promotion path is expected in 9-12 months.
