Job Summary
BILLING CLERK for Orlando Law Firm:
DSK Law, founded in 1976 is one of the largest law firms in Central Florida with offices in Orlando, Tampa, Melbourne and Tallahassee and is seeking candidates for an experienced Legal Billing Clerk in its Orlando Office. This position works in the office and reports to the Accounting Manager.
Summary of duties:
- Generate prebills: Review and edit prebill information related to time entries
- Process, print and mail client bills
- Handle and process a high volume of electronic billing submissions and follow-up, some complex
- Perform conflict checks for potential new clients
- Process new client and new matter intakes
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants and other members of the accounting team
- Ensure time entries comply with client-specific timekeeping requirements,
- Coordinate with accounts receivable specialist for follow-up on A/R balances
- Prepare reports in Excel or other formats as required by attorneys or clients
- Research and respond quickly to inquiries regarding billing questions,
- Perform updates to client billing information and document changes, including the date, action taken, authorization, etc.
- Assist with other special projects and activities as needed and performs additional duties as assigned

- Timely resolution of rejections or reductions of electronic invoices
- Ability to prepare accurate, highly detailed, high-volume work

- Good time management skills and prioritize workload effectively
- Exceptional internal/external customer service with strong problem-solving skills
- Detailed oriented with strong planning skills
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Can anticipate work needs and proactive in identifying challenges and providing solutions
- Work overtime on occasion if required

Qualifications:
Experience level:
- 2+ years of general accounting experience as a biller preferably within a law firm but not required
- Electronic billing and experience with Perfect Law are helpful
- Proficiency with Windows based software and Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required
