Billing Accountant at Amentum in Boise, Idaho, United States Job Description Job Summary: The Billing Accountant will apply principles of accounting to ensure proper and accurate bi-weekly billings. Following established accounting practices, the Billing accountant will analyze cost entries in Costpoint, collaborate with Project Accountants and PMO to determine non-billable entries, format billable entries into customer invoices and reconcile entries on customer invoices to Costpoint invoices. Essential Responsibilities include: + Calculates Billings in Costpoint + Processes Cognos reports for Cost Reimbursables + Formats Cognos reports into excel spreadsheets + Researches and verifies that entries are allowable + Verifies period of performance and accounts + Marks entries that are questionable + Locates supporting backup if needed + Formats reports into invoices + Reconciles each CLIN total to Costpoint totals + Verifies that funding is up to date + Sends Invoices out for review to the Project Accountant and PMO + Makes changes as necessary (holds, deletes, washes) + Balances invoices back to Costpoint + Balances cumulative totals to previous invoices + Updates Billing Schedule reports for senior management + Works closely with other departments to ensure accuracy of billable entries + Trains and assists others in the department to ensure deadlines are met Minimum Position Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: + Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field and zero to two years of job-related experience + Two (2) years' experience in billing accounting capacity or related field may be substituted for each year of the four (4) years of college. + Extensive knowledge in excel required Pivot tables, Macros, V Lookups as well as other excel functions are used daily + Knowledge of Costpoint, Cognos and OnBase + Good written communication skills + working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications + organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required + Position may require travel + Position may one day require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance + US Citizenship is required to apply #LI-CJ1 Amentum is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
