We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Parts Manager to oversee the parts department within our organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and a background in automotive service, enabling them to effectively manage inventory, procure parts, and ensure that our operations run smoothly. This role requires excellent negotiation skills and the ability to source high-quality parts while maintaining effective logistics.

Duties

  • Manage the sourcing, procurement, and purchasing of automotive parts and accessories.
  • Oversee inventory control processes to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained.
  • Utilize Dealertrack software for data entry and inventory management.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing on parts.
  • Coordinate logistics for the timely delivery of parts to meet operational needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions, including purchases and inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with service technicians to understand parts requirements for repairs and maintenance.
  • Implement best practices for inventory management to minimize waste and reduce costs.
  • Provide training and support to staff regarding parts management procedures.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a parts management role or similar position within the automotive industry.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with an understanding of automotive service processes.
  • Proficient in data entry with attention to detail for accurate record keeping.
  • Experience with sourcing, buying, and procuring automotive parts is essential.
  • Excellent negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing from suppliers.
  • Familiarity with inventory control systems and logistics management.
  • Proficiency in using Dealertrack or similar software for managing inventory data.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional customer service both internally and externally.
