Job Details We are seeking a Technology Design Engineer who will work on technology planning projects including Telecom, AV & Security. The incumbent will work with clients, manufacturers, design team members and others preparing construction documentation for each project. Experience should include drafting, designing, preparing specifications, and evaluating bid responses for telecommunications and security trades.
Verifying proper installation of all technology infrastructure equipment during project construction phase.
Making determinations on project construction budgets, reviewing bid documents, and overseeing the project bidding and project administration phase.
Making vendor recommendations.
Requirements:
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited 4-year institution.
Minimum of 7 years professional experience in designing and drawing AV and security systems.
Knowledge of AV and security systems including but not limited to flow diagrams, rack elevations and logical diagrams.
Hands on experience with creating AV plans, engineering schematics, wiring diagrams.
Knowledge of IT infrastructure including cable plant (horizontal & backbone), telecommunication room design, and pathways.
Familiarity with AV, Security and BICSI standards required.
Experience with CAD & BIM software including AutoCAD & REVIT.
CTS-Certified Technology Specialist, RCDD and architectural drafting background a plus.
