Associate, Affordable Housing & Community Development Katten seeks a highly qualified Associate to join its Affordable Housing and Community Development Practice Group in the Washington, DC office. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2-4 years of experience in multifamily and/or commercial real estate at a nationally recognized law firm or applicable experience with multifamily and/or commercial real estate lenders, agency financing programs (FHA, Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae), developers and/or property owners. The ideal candidate will have experience in financing affordable multifamily real estate deals with Freddie Mac and/or Fannie Mae and comfort with drafting transactional documents. Experience in affordable housing development, tax-exempt bond financing, low-income housing tax credits, agency financing programs (FHA, Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae), and HUD subsidy programs is a plus. Excellent academic credentials, strong analytical and writing skills, and a client-team focused approach is a must.
