Product Design Assistant

Location: Eastvale/Ontario, CA

About the Role: LHH is seeking a dedicated and experienced Product Design Assistant to join our client's team. This role involves supporting the Director of Design in new development and existing remodel projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in packaging design, be proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, and AI, and be able to coordinate shipments. Fluency in Chinese (speaking, reading, and writing) is essential for this role as it involves translating and working closely with vendors from China.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design Assistance: Assist with the design of projects from conception through completion, including new product designs and existing remodel projects.
• Packaging Competency: Possess competency in all aspects of packaging design and development.
• User Manuals: Develop, review, and update user manual projects.
• Purchase Orders: Prepare purchase orders, monitor and track to completion, and work with vendors to ensure availability and ability to meet delivery deadlines.
• Project Documentation: Create project documentation, inventory, organize, and catalog all interior finishes.
• Meetings and Walkthroughs: Attend assigned meetings and project walkthroughs, keep accurate notes, recap to the group, and follow through on all design changes.
• Team Collaboration: Work well with other team members, managers, and interact with our clientele. Must be able to adapt and perform with minimal stress when confronted with an emergency.
• Software Proficiency: Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, and AI for measuring packaging.
• Shipment Coordination: Coordinate shipments and ensure timely delivery.
• Translation: Fluent in Chinese (speaking, reading, and writing) to translate and communicate effectively with vendors.

Qualifications:

• Education: BA degree required.
• Experience: Background in packaging design and development.
• Skills: Strong proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and AI. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Language: Fluent in Chinese (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Team Player: Ability to work well in a team environment and commit to the role.
