Posting Description: Assistant Marching Band Director (Stipend Position)


Newark Charter School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Marching Band Director to join our dynamic music program. This is a stipend position that requires a commitment to attend all marching band events throughout the school year. While marching percussion experience is preferred, it is not required. Responsibilities include collaborating with the head band director to plan and execute rehearsals, performances, parades, and other band-related events. The assistant director will instruct all sections of the band, with a primary focus on the percussion section. Additional duties involve assisting in designing marching band drill formations and choreography, ensuring adherence to safety protocols during rehearsals and performances, helping with equipment set-up, maintenance, and transportation to events, and attending all band rehearsals, performances, parades, and other band events as requested.

  • Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
  • Promote high expectations for behavior standards and enforce the Code of Conduct.
  • Contribute to the school community outside of the instructional program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
