Tazza D'Orois looking for an
Assistant Manager for our Oakland location.
Monday through Friday availability, with occasional weekend availability
34-40 hours per week
Primary Purpose: To assist the General Manager with operational tasks, oversee and ensure quality for all beverages and products, maintain the cleanliness of the cafe, create a positive work environment for employees, and provide exceptional service in a welcoming environment for all customers.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee cleanliness of all store areas
- Delegate tasks to staff and supervise their performance
- Report employee issues/concerns to Manager in a timely manner
- Complete ordering and maintain store inventory
- Help staff resolve on-the-job challenges
- Coordinate with General Manager and shift supervisors for interviewing and training new hires
- Continuously review processes for inefficiencies and lead the implementation of creative solutions
- Ensure that staff are preparing handcrafted, quality beverages and products adhering to Tazza D'Oro and SCAA Standards.
- Uphold the staff to quality customer service by regularly providing beverage and food quality coaching, and conducting performance reviews
- Maintains the integrity of cash handling procedures and report all discrepancies to Store Manager
- Provide back-up in the absence of the General Manager.
- Maintains a calm, pleasant demeanor within a fast-paced environment, particularly during periods of high volume
Minimum Requirements Experience:
- 2-3 years of specialty coffee experience
- 1-2 years shift supervisor/assistant manager experience
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Efficient problem solving skills
- Ability to work full time with flexible hours, work beyond shift hours if needed
- Ability to work as part of a team with a positive, energetic and resourceful attitude
- Serve Safe certification
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
