Job Description

My well known national commercial bank client is looking for a contract Art Director to sit out of Richmond or Mclean VA. This can also sit out of the Mclean, Chicago, or NYC people center for this client as well!

12 month contract, $40/hr.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop creative for a range of print and digital channels, including web, email, display, mail, proposals, packaging, OOH, experiential activations, and more.
• Own design through the creative process—from white space to real life.
• Champion and guard the brand.
• Be a subject matter expert of brand standards, and advocate for good taste.
• Drive brand consistency and recognition across work.
• Collaborate with a lot of smart people.
• Work with team—copywriters, creative directors, and Brand.
• Work with partners—marketing, business, and production partners, internally and externally.
• Make strategic creative that cuts through the noise.
• Use evidence and strategy to inform creative decisions.
• Adapt approach for widely varying briefs, products, and business goals.
• Proactively bring new ideas that raise the bar and push mindsets.
• Think across integrated channels, products and experiences.
• Stay ahead of consumer trends and insights, and let them influence work.
• Get stuff done. On time. Every time.
• Manage deadlines on multiple projects happening at the same time.
• Complete high-quality work with an appropriate degree of autonomy.
• Deliver error-free work, using best practices with keen attention to detail.
• Proactively identify opportunities and develop solutions.
• Listen to and incorporate feedback, and ask questions when need clarity.
• Invest time where it counts, judging when to start from scratch vs. use what’s there.
• Present work in a compelling way, tailoring for different audiences.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or military experience
• At least 3 years of professional design experience in relevant industries and channels
• At least 3 years of experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)
• At least 1 year of experience working with a digital design software (ex. Figma, etc.)
• Portfolio of multichannel creative work, with descriptions of creative strategy

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in one or more of the following industries: luxury, travel, hospitality, premium.

Additional expertise in spatial or experiential design is a further plus, including experience with a 3D or spatial design software (ex. Adobe Substance, Sketchup, etc.
