Job Description
Performs general and specialized functions in preparing for and responding to emergency calls, while also providing overall support within the Police Department. Responsibilities include maintaining readiness for emergency calls and taking appropriate action when needed.
Required Experience
Two (2) years of law enforcement or professional security experience, OR at least 60 college credits in a related field, OR two (2) years of active-duty military experience, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
DCJS Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) Certification required.
Must be able to pass a comprehensive background investigation, including fingerprint-based criminal history records inquiries.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Required Skills
Working knowledge of law enforcement techniques for conducting criminal and traffic investigations.
Ability to quickly analyze situations and determine the best course of action.
Proficiency with firearms and other law enforcement tools, ensuring safe and skilled use.
Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
Strong professionalism, with the ability to perform assigned work with a positive and professional attitude.
