Activity Assistant
Department: Activities & Programming
Reports To: Activity Director

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of seniors? As an Activity Assistant, you'll play a key role in creating a vibrant and engaging environment for residents. From planning creative activities to fostering meaningful connections, this role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with people, has a compassionate heart, and thrives in a dynamic setting.

What You'll Do

Design and implement engaging activity programs that cater to residents' interests and abilities.
Develop a weekly activity calendar, including group activities and personalized one-on-one programs.
Work closely with the Activity Director to enhance the overall resident experience.
Support and participate in the Memory Care Program, ensuring residents receive specialized, thoughtful engagement.
Assist with resident assessments and care plans, providing valuable input on their social and recreational needs.
Communicate with families about their loved ones' participation in activities.
Help train and guide staff on the importance of recreational programming for residents' well-being.
Plan and assist in community-wide events, such as family nights and open houses.
Organize and oversee volunteer programs, including training and supervision.
Coordinate transportation for outings and medical appointments.
Maintain a clean and welcoming activity environment.
Ensure all activities comply with state regulations for assisted living facilities.
Provide support during emergency situations, including evacuations if needed.

What We're Looking For

A high school diploma or GED (required).
A compassionate, team-oriented attitude and a strong desire to improve residents' quality of life.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work weekends as assigned.
A valid driver's license (for transportation-related tasks).
Physical ability to assist residents, including lifting up to 25 lbs and moving throughout the community as needed.
